TESTING AND CHECKING

Process control, dimension control and density control with 10 bar pressure in several stages of production. Independent testing has shown durability for pressures up to 70 bar.

FINISH AND SURFACE

Chemical cleaning and mechanical machining with so-called steel coiling is the basis for the final coating. Chromed towel dryers are nickel plated first. Colored towel dryers are produced by burning an approx. 100 micron thick polyester plastic layer for a strong, maintenance-free surface. TVS offers the following assaults:

  • Powder coated white RAL 9016
  • Powder coated black RAL 9005
  • Shiny chrome
  • Polished stainless steel. The surface appears glossy and is a bit more "golden" than chrome
  • Brushed stainless steel. The surface appears "brushed" so you can see small abrasions on the pipes

MANUFACTURING

Automated processes and computer control ensure compliance with all tolerances and a consistent product. Pipe connections are done by brazing with silver, which gives maximum strength and the smoothest surface.

WEATHER COMPENSATION

Weather compensation is a method of adjusting the flow temperature to the current need based on the outside temperature. The idea is that the colder it is outside, the hotter the flow for heating the house needs to be or vice versa, the hotter it is outside, the "colder" the flow can be. This is a legal requirement for new gas and oil boilers as well as heat pumps.

This can be important in choosing a towel dryer if you want to warm it throughout the year. If you choose "only" to install a waterfilled towel dryer with valves on the central heating system, then the heat on the towel dryer will decrease as the outdoor temperature rises.

Here it will be appropriate to choose either to install an electric towel rail (model ELDO or one of the other models with a heater) or do combination operation. Combi operation is a solution where you have both installed the towel dryer on your central heating system but besides that you have also mounted a heater so that when the central heating "shuts down" in the summer you can use the heater to ensure a constant heat on the towel dryer. See more under "Combi operation".

COMBI OPERATIONS

Combi operation is used where you want to close for example the central heating system in the summer and still want heat in your towel dryer. It is also a good solution if you have a weather-compensated central heating system.

If you choose to mount a combination drive, use our valve set 130 - either in white, black or chrome. The valve set is mounted as a normal valve set with the same CC as the radiator. You can then mount a heater through the valve on either the right or the left side.

Make sure that you can shut off 100% of the radiator on one side so that no circulation in the radiator when running on electricity. It must only be closed on one side or there will be no room for the pressure that the water makes when heated by the electric heater.

combi SOLUTION FOR CENTRALHEATING / ELECTRICAL

MATERIALS

All TVS radiators are made of top quality steel pipes. Round tubes have a thickness of min. 1.5 mm. Square / D profile tubes a thickness of min. 2.0 mm

OPERATION

Since a towel dryer is made of steel and then surface treated with either powder coating or chrome, it is important to keep it warm all the time.

If it is mounted in a damp room and is not heated for a long time, surface rust will form. If damp towels are hung on the dryer without heat, there is a high risk of blowing. forming rust on the underside of the horizontal tubes.

ELECTRICAL CONSUMPTION ON HEATERS

An example of calculating electricity consumption on a radiator fitted with a 300 watt heater could be as follows:

We usually have the "rule" that if there are approx. 18 degrees in the room where the radiator is located, the heater will run for approx. 10 min. out of an hour where there is power consumption. It gives approx. 4 hours a day.

Then you take 4 hours and times with a consumption of 0.3 kw which gives 1.2 kw each day. That gives 438 kw in a year and at  a price of approx. DKK 2.00  each kw. this will be DKK 876.00 which is the costs to have the towel dryer with heating element running all the time.

The actual electricity consumption will of course also depend on how much you vent into the room so that the temperate air is replaced with cold air. It also depends on how hot you want the towel dryer. The example shown is made from a towel dryer temperature of approx. 40 degrees.

TVS  takes no responsibility for deviations in the above calculation or the actual electricity consumption.

CENTRAL HEATING

A towel dryer is not a replacement for a regular radiator in a room and cannot be used for room heating.

A towel dryer is designed to dry towels, tea towels, etc. and it will not be usable as a primary heating source in a room. It is a very nice supplement to e.g. floor heating or an ordinary radiator.

This is also why we would never recommend installing a room thermostat on a towel dryer. With this solution, the towel dryer will "shut down" when the temperature in the room becomes too high and then the drying effect will disappear. For water filled towel dryers, use either return thermostat valves or manual regulated valves.

The heat output in watts we have listed on our website is calculated on district / central heating * with a flow temperature of 70 degrees and a return of 40 degrees. If you install a heater in a water-based towel drier then the performance will drop a bit as you will then have a "stationary temperature" of about 40-45 degrees.

* Model ELDO, PLUS 1 and PLUS 2 is for electricity use only and the services are therefore calculated for electricity operation and not on the basis of flow and return temperatures.

MAINTENANCE

To get the most benefit and benefit from your new TVS towel warmer, please observe the following simple maintenance rules:

Never use steel wool, scouring sponge, abrasives or polishes of any kind.

Cleaning is done simply by wiping with a damp cloth and then with a dry, soft, linen cloth.

Any lime stains are removed with some vinegar and then as mentioned above. Chrome-plated and matt-chromed models can optionally be sprayed or wiped with a so-called silver plaster cloth.

Colored models are coated with a strong polyester plastic or synthetic lacquer. Should the accident happen, however, that a tile is knocked off, the spot will be stained as soon as possible - but make sure the metal is clean and dry beforehand.

Following these instructions will ensure trouble-free use for many years to come
